What happens when a Pole Dance practitioner receives support from their family?

Updated: 4 days ago

Pole Dance is still very much seen with a lot of stereotypes and prejudice.

For this reason, it is rare to see minors practicing the activity or even the presence of family members in performances and festivals.

But there are families in which these judgments have been replaced by support and love!

Below, we will share the story of a father who bought a Gaia Pole as a gift for his daughter and granted us the GIFT of being able to share the beautiful story he told us!

"A new lifestyle... or would it be love at first sight?

It all happened when Bia quit dancing. She was part of a Dance Company that traveled a lot, including to Amsterdam, where they were champions!

Anyway, she gave up her dream to enroll in medical school. This would take up all of her time, after all, she wanted to dedicate herself, but, gosh, she had a full life of physical activity! Stopping would be, at the very least, sitting on top of sedentary lifestyle.

Instead, she saw a Pole Dance video and thought... 'Could it be?'

She found in Pole Dance, at Fisiopoleart studio in Santos (SP), a way to be connected to her true self.

She had flexible hours, full physical exercise, combined with a freedom that would make any winged being envious. Yes, the Pole makes you fly!

With encouragement from me and her mother, she started doing it once a week and soon she was doing it for more days. Not satisfied, she thought: 'What if'"

Yes, that's exactly what you thought... What if she had her own pole?

She prepared to, in her own way, show that she deserved such a residential trophy.

And there's more, it was good that it was a model she could take wherever she wanted, and after a few months of 'speeches', the object of desire was given to her, a model from Gaia Pole that she can take to various places!

I think maybe all of this was only possible because we, the parents, encouraged her from the classes to having the pole at home.

Usually, the encouragement comes more from the mother, but here it came in a simple way, both from the father and the mother.

The rest is history, and you can see it in the photos!

Kisses"

That's what happens when your family supports you: you develop, fulfill dreams, and evolve.

This is a reminder that there are countless ways for you to support the dreams of those you love!

This father decided, together with the mother, to give his daughter a pole so that she could keep her love for dance. But BEFORE that, there was all the support!

It's about being THERE, about accompanying, praising, engaging, encouraging. Being present is indeed the best gift.

(But a Gaia wouldn't hurt, huh? Use the coupon GIFTGAIA and get 7% OFF to gift your love with one of her passions!)

We hope that more families embrace their children in their processes of discovery. May judgments be replaced by support and love!
