nutrition x pole training: how can nutrition be your ally in pole dance training?

Pole is for everybody. Every body type. And we know that perfectly well.

But regardless of the body shape, just like any other physical activity, it's important to keep a balanced diet in order to achieve better results during your pole dancing practices.

After all, when we talk about nutrition, we are talking about much more than just aesthetics. It directly influences performance, energy, and proper functioning of the body.

You know that move you dream of but seem to lack the strength to do? Perhaps a closer look at nutrition can help!

That's why Gaia Pole talked to Vanessa Costa, owner of Ultra, the largest Pole training school in Brazil, founder of the Brazilian Pole Dance Federation, and creator of the RESET method.

Vanessa explains that, in general, foods are divided into three groups: Energy, Building, and Regulating.

"To have the necessary daily nutrients in your diet, you need to combine the 3 food groups."

Vanessa has separated a list of essential foods that you should know and include in your routine to have more energy in class and see your body not only change but also respond better to what you are looking for.

Energy: Provides our body with all the energy for daily activities.

Good examples of foods in this group are sweet potatoes, yams, yucca, and nuts (chestnuts, almonds, walnuts, etc.). Cereals and derivatives such as rice and pasta also fall into this category.

Regulating: Has the function of regulating our body.

They are a source of essential vitamins and minerals and rich in fiber. All fruits, vegetables, and legumes fall into this category.

Building: Provides a greater amount of protein.

They are essential in tissue formation and should be present in the main meals in a balanced way throughout the day. Good examples are milk and dairy products, meats, eggs, and legumes.

"The ideal is to have a combination of the three groups whenever you eat to give you energy, satiety, and accelerate your post-workout recovery process, balancing your body and building that strong Pole Dance arm you want," she concludes.

Remember, of course, that the ideal amounts for your body according to the goals you want to achieve should always be guided by a health professional.

So make good choices and have fun in your workouts!
